MU-MIX can be applied directly over severely deteriorated asphalt transforming a cracked and worn surface into a beautifully smooth, traction-responsive, and uniformly finished black matte surface that does not fade easily. Under normal circumstances, the existing surface would need to be removed and replaced to achieve similar results. MU-MIX installation is approximately 70% more cost effective for property owners than a full removal and replacement of existing asphalt pavement. 

 The Mu-Mix Heavy Duty Protective Overlay represents a new and improved development in the field of coal tar emulsion protection for asphalt pavements. Applied in two separate coats and drying to a uniform black color that will not fade, it enhances the property’s appearance and value while offering long lasting protection under heavy traffic conditions.

MU-MIX was awarded a patent not only because of its traction responsive (no slipping) and oil/gas resistant qualities, but also because it dries to a much harder finish than conventional sealcoatings, thus lasting much longer under the same traffic conditions. The larger size silica aggregate combined with the specific MU-MIX Latex Rubber and the highest quality coal-tar emulsion provide a uniform thixotropic material.  MU-MIX is gasoline and oil resistant and is texturized for better traction and less tire squeal.  MU-MIX fills and covers all cracks up to one-half inch wide and one-half inch deep, filling the crack to the surface and restoring the pavements surface to its original state.
