 Yes, Mu-Mix can absolutely be used with water-based sealers. In fact, it works especially well with water-based coal tar sealers.

With straight coal tar concentrate, Mu-Mix allows you to add a substantial amount of water while thickening and strengthening the finished material. 

For example, a typical mixture would be:

100 gallons of straight coal tar sealer80 gallons of water5 gallons of Mu-Mix Additive (5% based on the original coal tar volume)

Mu-Mix helps thicken the diluted sealer and improves the cured coating, helping it harden and provide a stronger, longer-lasting finished surface.

If the sealer you purchase already contains water, that existing water should be taken into consideration when determining how much additional water to add.
